This week at Pre-School we created our very own Divva lights and learnt about Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights which took place on Sunday 12th November. We learnt that the festival celebrates light over darkness. The children made their own salt dough, weighed and measured it and then used lots of different tools to make patterns around the tea light, which is great for developing fine motor skills. We then painted them once they were dry and we learnt about colour mixing. It’s also National Rhyme Week and to celebrate we have been using our new felt rhyme boards, which have been kindly donated by a parent. They have been very popular! We also enjoyed our new song sacks and parachute games, especially when we sung ‘ring a ring a roses.’ We also had our very own hairdressers at Pre-School this week. Lots of My Little Ponies were lucky enough to get a make over. This encouraged lots of lovely role play.
